Dom Juan - Molière

Macha Makeïeff's Dom Juan is a true depiction of 18th-century France, permeated with the influence of the Marquis de Sade. The writer believes these two iconic libertines both relish in debauchery, a desire to exhibit their unholiness and partake in all manner of depravity. Then there’s Dom Juan’s valet Sganarelle, the mirror image of his master's sacrilegious antics, engaged in a love-hate relationship, a perverse game of domination. Dom Juan's wife Elvire is a powerful, ambivalent woman, sublime beyond her grief, her voice rebelling against a woman's destiny assigned to humiliation and degradation by the formidable desire of a man.Yet despite the tragic nature of this play, Dom Juan still offers the joys of a great comedy, a burst of laughter!Approximate running time: 2.5 hours with no intermissionDirector, sets, costume designerMacha MakeïeffFeaturing Xavier Gallais, Vincent Winterhalter, Irina Solano, Pascal Ternisien, Jeanne-Marie Lévy, Xaverine Lefebvre, Khadija Kouyaté, Joaquim Fossi, and Anthony MoudirTechniciansLighting design: Jean Bellorini assisted by Olivier TisseyreSound: Sébastien Trouvé assisted by Jérémie TisonWigs and make-up: Cécile KretschmarMovement: Guillaume SiardPainted canvas (harpsichord): Félix Deschamps MakAssistant director: Lucile LacazeAssistant Set Designer: Nina CoulaisAssistant Costume Designer: Laura GarnierProps Assistant: Marine MartinProduction Manager: André NeriStage Manager: Marine HelmlingerProps Machinist: Jeanne DoireauDresser: Mathilde BoffardHair and Make-up Artist: Françoise ChaumayracProduction Compagnie MadeMoiselle - Macha MakeïeffCo-productionThéâtre National Populaire - Villeurbanne

Adieu aux Magnifiques - Michel Boujenah

I've decided to bid farewell to my beloved characters Maxo, Julot, and Guigui, my three little trouser sellers. My three heroes from an adventure full of memories. They are funny and moving. They are the imaginary version of my father's generation. Long before the Internet and everything else, they were wondering whether they would still be remembered in two or three generations' time.Michel BoujenahMichel Boujenah joyfully revisits the timeless jokes of the Boutbouls, the three Jewish Tunisians who immigrated to France.
He bids a fond farewell to these characters, whom he created in 1984 and promised to revisit every twenty years by adapting the play, and he kept his word. The years have passed, but the themes of the integration of foreigners and the links with the younger generation remain relevant. A new favourite character has appeared: now it's time for you to discover who it is!Approximate running time: 1h25 without intermissionFeaturingMichel BoujenahTechniciansGeneral manager and sound technician: Anthony HenrotLighting design manager: Maria BarrosoProductionMerSea Prod

Novels - Loran Deutsch

After a deep dive into the history of the metro (Métronome in 2009, adapted into a documentary series for France 5) and a journey through the history of France via its roads (Hexagone, 2013), Lorànt Deutsch is back with “Romanesque, la folle histoire de la langue française”, published in 2018. This time, the history buff shakes off common preconceptions to explore the origins of our language. Did you know that ‘vintage’ derives from ‘vendange tardive’? Who is Saint Glinglin? There's more than meets the eye here. With the stage to himself, armed with his lively choice of words, Lorànt Deutsch takes you on a whirlwind tour of etymological roots at the frenetic pace of one century per chapter; this is a celebration of the vitality of our language, which integrates more than it rejects! The Sea Wall (Un barrage contre le Pacifique) - Marguerite Duras

In 1931, in southern French Indochina, a woman lives alone with her two children, Joseph and Suzanne (20 and 16 years old), on the Cambodian coast, close to the port of Ram. All they have is an old Citroën B12.For 15 years, the mother saved, working as a pianist in a cinema, to buy a piece of land that turns out to be uncultivable: every year, it is flooded by the sea, which the mother persists in calling the Pacific Ocean. She battles the elements and convinces the authorities and local farmers to build a dam. In this adaptation of Marguerite Duras’ novel, Anne Consigny gives voice to the destiny of an extraordinary woman, strong and combative, who remains nameless throughout the novel. For the actress, she offers "a universal and timeless expression of the feminine condition".Approximate running time: 1h25 without intermissionPre-performance introduction with the audience: 15 min Performed, adapted and directed by Anne ConsignyTechniciansAssistant: Cécile BarreyreSound: Saoussen TatahCostume Designer: Cidalia Da CostaMusic: ThéodoraArtistic advisor: Pascale ConsignyLighting design: Patrick ClitusProductionACdC

Molières 2024 :
Best Director in a Private Theatre: Olivier Solivérès
Best Male Newcomer: Ethan OlielWith its themes of non-conformism, discovery and self-improvement, Dead Poets Society remains surprisingly topical 30 years after it enjoyed its enormous success at the cinema. John Keating, the charismatic teacher who employs an innovative approach to teaching, instils in his pupils the best lessons one can learn: freedom, confidence and faith in a future that is shaped by our own decisions. Led by Stéphane Friess, who delivers a brilliant interpretation of a free-spirited and dedicated teacher, alongside a fantastic cast of young actors, Dead Poets Society offers a universal lesson which has not aged at all: carpe diem!Based on the film produced by Touchstone Pictures and written by Tom Schulman.Original production by Classic Stage Company.
