Dom Juan - Molière

Introduction
Macha Makeïeff's Dom Juan is a true depiction of 18th-century France, permeated with the influence of the Marquis de Sade.
The writer believes these two iconic libertines both relish in debauchery, a desire to exhibit their unholiness and partake in all manner of depravity.
Then there’s Dom Juan’s valet Sganarelle, the mirror image of his master's sacrilegious antics, engaged in a love-hate relationship, a perverse game of domination. Dom Juan's wife Elvire is a powerful, ambivalent woman, sublime beyond her grief, her voice rebelling against a woman's destiny assigned to humiliation and degradation by the formidable desire of a man.
Yet despite the tragic nature of this play, Dom Juan still offers the joys of a great comedy, a burst of laughter!
