L'audience est ouverte (The Hearing is Open) - Richard Berry

In this performance, Richard Berry will highlight four major emblematic cases from the twentieth century through the prism of the pleas presented by leading lawyers: 

• Maître Jakubowicz at the trial of Klaus Barbie and his crimes against humanity
• Maître Labori on the trial of Emile Zola and the Dreyfus Affair
• Maître Dupin on the end of life
• Maître Molteni, in a public speaking competition on the offence of solidarity

Interspersed with archive footage and making use of a highly involved technical process, the staging is designed to be immersive, inviting the audience to assume the role of jurors. These fascinating, timeless cases have relevance to key contemporary issues!
