Introduction

Adopting an approach based on collaboration and symbiosis, Léa Collet explores the links between the Monegasque landscape, how it is depicted in the museum’s collections, the history of Monaco’s Exotic Garden and the fictional garden that she is developing in collaboration with artificial intelligence and two groups of pupils from Monaco’s lower secondary schools. There is a particular focus on the way in which these aspects can feed each other, thereby opening up new perspectives on how they co-exist and enrich each other.

Léa Collet lives and works in Aulnay-sous-Bois, and also maintains strong links with London. Her art – which is multifaceted and reflexive – speculates on the interconnections between botany, emotions, the land, communication and technology. Through installations, performances and video, she creates new imaginary worlds, which present as new anchors or new collective identities. She is also interested in how natural and artificial intelligences co-exist. Her approach is lively and ever-changing, a continuous empirical creation that feeds off her ventures into co-creation.

Léa Collet was recently awarded the SIGG Art Prize. Her work is on show at the 68th Salon de Montrouge and at the Musée d’Art Contemporain in Lyon, as part of the group exhibition: "Échos du passé, promesses du futur" (Echoes of the Past, Promises of the Future) until 13 July 2025.

Event scheduled as part of the "AGORA, The Museum as a Meeting Place - LAB#3” exhibition".

The LABs offer visitors the opportunity to explore the museum as a "laboratory" in which its roles (collecting, studying, disseminating, producing, conserving and transmitting) are the subject of reflection, experimentation and innovation. In 2015, the NMNM launched its first LAB and exhibited "Behind the Scenes of the Museum", followed by another LAB in 2018, where five artists were invited to redefine the museum through a new lens.In 2025, ahead of major structural renovations to the Villa Sauber, the NMNM will be prioritising its public engagement programmes, which focus on artists and unveiling their artistic expression. The works acquired since 2017 as part of the "Apprentis collectionneurs" programme will be exhibited alongside pieces from the heritage collections. Visitors will also be able to discover the works of Léna Durr and Éléonore False, artists who were recently invited to take up creative residencies.By inviting Olivier Vadrot to create a new architectural design, this LAB, conceived by Benjamin Laugier, will provide a space for discussion and collective experiences within the museum. A series of meetings, screenings and performances will be held throughout the exhibition, giving rise to new projects."La collection voyageuse", "le Nouveau Musée Numérique" and Léa Collet's current residency will be the subject of regular workshops, along with the "Écoletopie" project by the Smarin studio, who will be creating a mediation lounge.A collaborative publication will also be produced during the exhibition with Éditions Empire.

To evoke the Mediterranean, means summoning up the extraordinary history of the many great civilisations shaped on its shores over the centuries. But it also means facing up to its future, which is more uncertain than ever. The various pressures associated with its use, population growth, pollution and global warming are all threats to its future, global warming are all threats to its unique biodiversity and ecosystem services. This brand new immersive and interactive exhibition "Méditerranée 2050" aims to encourage visitors to the Monaco ‘s Oceanographic Museum to take a new interest in the Mediterranean and become involved in its protection, through a space-time journey to 2050.

Nicolas Poussin (1594–1665) was the first painter to focus not simply on landscape, but on Nature, which he did with lyricism and increasing sensitivity over the course of his career. Given that Poussin founded a school, something of this ‘feeling for Nature’ was passed on to the generations that followed, for example, in the works of Gaspard Dughet and Claude-Joseph Vernet. But what of today? Although ecological worries are a major concern for our societies, are there any artists who still depict nature elegiacally? It is our aim to show that yes, indeed there are, by bringing together, on each of Villa Paloma’s floors, classical paintings with all manner of contemporary works: sculptures, installations, photographs, videos, films, paintings and drawings. And while these pairings for the most part represent a Franco‑Italian exchange, though not exclusively, they do so as a tribute to Poussin, who, though French, spent most of his career in Rome. The exhibition is in six sections – Storms and Nights; Forests and Gardens; Seascapes and Waterfalls; Deserts and Volcanoes; Mountains; Flowers and Butterflies – each offering a different perspective on what during Antiquity was called miracula naturae … the marvels of nature. With works by Roger Ackling, Robert Barry, Anne-Lise Broyer, Giorgio Andreotta Calò, Pier Paolo Calzolari, Christo et Jeanne-Claude, Thomas Demand, Gustave Doré, Gaspard Dughet, Latifa Echakhch, Tim Eitel, Ed van der Elsken, Ilse et Pierre Garnier, Nan Goldin, Andreas Gursky, Suzanne Husky, Mimmo Jodice, Pierre Joseph, Ange Leccia, Pierre Lesieur, Charles de Meaux, Fausto Melotti, Mario Merz, Sarah Moon, Giulio Paolini, Claudio Parmiggiani, Bruno Pélassy, Giuseppe Penone, Nicolas Poussin, Anting Qiu, Walter Robinson, Torbjørn Rødland, Anne Laure Sacriste, Christophe Sarlin, Pierre Thoretton, Pierre-Henri de Valenciennes, Joseph Vernet, Marine Wallon…The exhibition is accompanied by a catalog published by Humboldt.Curated by Guillaume de Sardes Exhibition design: Christophe MartinImage: Nicolas Poussin, Landscape of Grottaferrata: Landscape with River God / Venus and Adonis (detail) Oil on canvas  75 × 199 cm Musée Fabre, Montpellier Méditérranée Métropole, Inv. n° 825.1.171 – Photo Frédéric Jaulmes

This richly illustrated, educational and interactive exhibition tells the story of the birth and evolution of our species, Homo sapiens, and of the entire human lineage known as Hominins. It traces the journey, through long migrations, of human beings who invented tools and mastered fire, before leaving the African cradle of humanity and eventually settling, for the past approximately 10,000 years, across the entire planet. These fascinating and open-ended questions are explored in this exhibition, which is further enriched by multimedia content (interviews, 3D views of prehistoric objects, quizzes, games, etc.).Like all exhibitions by Synops editions, From Toumaï to Sapiens is aimed at a wide audience and shares scientific knowledge in an educational and engaging way. Passionate about sharing knowledge, Synops editions design exhibitions that are both educational, interactive and immersive, intended for museums, media libraries, associations, science and technology culture centres and all types of public venues.
