Eötvos - Bartok - Scriabine
The Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra brings together two figures from the early 20th century who inspired Pierre Boulez in his quest as a composer and conductor: Béla Bartók, whose Violin Concerto No. 2 fully displays his originality and orchestral virtuosity, and the unexpected Alexander Scriabin, whom Boulez saw as a precursor of Stravinsky’s art. With an introduction featuring a Boulezian spiritual son, the late Péter Eötvös.
