Sanseverino - C'était mieux avant

Introduction
Taking inspiration from gypsy music and jazz, as well as 1940s and 50s electronic music from Django to Zappa, Stéphane alias Sanseverino has been coming up with ideas that are both whacky and genius for 20 years. Switching effortlessly from gypsy swing to rock and blues, his albums reflect decades of music and influences, always expressed with brilliance and precision.
He will present his latest album, C’était mieux maintenant, at Fort Antoine this summer. This new work draws on influences from Africa, 1970s blues and New Orleans funk.
As an activist artist, he is outspoken and not afraid to tackle the “hard” issues: climate change, unbridled capitalism, immigration...
"Were things better when you were of an age where you didn’t worry about anything, where you were a rocker, a punk or a hippie?" Well the response is "NO [...] So the message for the younger generation, what I would say to them is: we’ll support you however we can!" Sanseverino
