Introduction
For its fourth edition, the Mozart Festival in Monaco will feature six concerts and is collaborating with the Monte-Carlo Opera to bring you two opera evenings as part of the festival. Among the highlights of the festival: a focus on the clarinet (with the sublime concerto and quintet composed for this instrument) with Pierre Génisson, the Violin Concerto No. 1 and the Piano Concerto No. 12 to be performed by Bohdan Lutz and Alexandra Dovgan conducted by Kazuki Yamada, a programme of Baroque and Classical music led by the great Dutch conductor Ton Koopman, two Happy Hour concerts devoted to the chamber repertoire for strings and flute, and a Young Audiences concert devoted to Mozart's early life in Italy. This year, a Spiritual Concert at Monaco Cathedral will also provide an opportunity to enjoy some of the Austrian composer's most sacred works.

Mozart: the whole world knows his name, a musical genius, pianist, violinist and composer. Following his death at the age of 35, he bequeathed to humanity some of the greatest masterpieces in music.However, few people know much about his childhood or adolescence: years of endless travelling, during which Léopold (Wolfgang’s father) showed his prodigious son off to prominent figures across Europe. But these travels also had a significant influence on Mozart’s artistic development, especially this famous first trip to Italy – then the global centre of music – where he met many of the great artists of the era.This concert will be an opportunity to discover some of the major works composed by the teenage Mozart, accompanied by fascinating and often juicy travel stories!Recommended for ages 5 and up1st trip by Mozart and his father to Italy (December 1769 – March 1771)
