Recreation of "L'Ancêtre" by Saint-Saëns
Introduction
On 6 October 2024, the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Kazuki Yamada, performed a concert version of Camille Saint-Saëns’ opera L’Ancêtre, which was commissioned by Prince Albert I and first performed at the Monte-Carlo Theatre in 1906.
As part of a co-production with Palazzetto Bru Zane, the work performed on 6 October was also recorded and will be released on CD in autumn 2025.
