Fondation Prince Pierre de Monaco
Introduction
A keen supporter of literature and the arts, Prince Pierre founded a conference society in Monaco in 1924. In 1951, a Literary Council was established, uniting members of the French Academy, the Académie Goncourt and foreign Francophone writers.
The Prince Pierre Foundation was founded on 17 February 1966 by H.S.H. Prince Rainier III, in tribute to the memory of his father, Prince Pierre.
Now chaired by H.R.H. the Princess of Hanover, the foundation aims to promote contemporary creativity. Each year, H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince awards prizes to nominees selected by three councils: literary, musical, and artistic. The councils comprise internationally renowned figures.
The Prince Pierre Foundation also organises an annual season of conferences, exhibitions, and concerts and develops educational and editorial activities.
