Introduction

The Nouveau Musée National of Monaco has commissioned Lidwine Prolonge to create a "grand tour" of the principality. Her voice accompanies a 360-degree shot, to intertwine cinematographic and literary references with anecdotes of fortunate coincidences. Prolonge challenges us to take a fresh look at a landscape that has already been fictionalised many times before. The work "Suivre le Perroquet Blanc. Récits et autres tours" was commissioned by the Nouveau Musée National of Monaco in 2024.

By drawing on practices such as hypnosis-assisted performance, video installation, photography, object displays and writing, Lidwine Prolonge's work seeks to establish a continuity between personal events and collective history, in order to disrupt our relationship with perceived, experienced and imagined situations.

Performance by Lidwine Prolonge in the Petit Train de Monaco.

At 5pm sharp: The performance starts at Monaco Tours, opposite the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco. (Running time: 40mn)

To evoke the Mediterranean, means summoning up the extraordinary history of the many great civilisations shaped on its shores over the centuries. But it also means facing up to its future, which is more uncertain than ever. The various pressures associated with its use, population growth, pollution and global warming are all threats to its future, global warming are all threats to its unique biodiversity and ecosystem services. This brand new immersive and interactive exhibition "Méditerranée 2050" aims to encourage visitors to the Monaco ‘s Oceanographic Museum to take a new interest in the Mediterranean and become involved in its protection, through a space-time journey to 2050.
