Exhibition - Hubert Clerissi, Espaces Ciselés
From Thursday 20 February to Wednesday 12 March 2025, Monaco City Hall will be supporting an exhibition of the works of painter Hubert Clerissi, which will be held at the Quai Antoine I Exhibition Hall, in collaboration with the Department of Cultural Affairs of the Prince's Government and Pavillon Bosio – Monaco Art School.

Introduction
This retrospective, entitled "Espaces ciselés", highlights the incisive style typical of this Monegasque artist whose work drew upon his family heritage, underpinned by the guidance of his father, an architect, to lead him along his own path to artistic independence. After the war, Clerissi gradually freed himself from the shackles of architecture to create works that symbolise both discipline and freedom. His urban landscapes, characterised by architectural precision and expressive lines, convey the juxtaposition of order and emotion. His watercolours, which are looser and more fluid, capture the uncertainty and fragility of life.
Blending different media with energy and creativity, Clerissi explores vibrant, ephemeral textures. Inspired by Utrillo, Dufy and Buffet, he creates an introspective world where his linework embodies his quest for self-improvement and freedom.
In partnership with the Pavillon Bosio "Décors" post-master’s programme.
