Quai Albert I Studios - A conversation with Ahmad Reshad
I’ve followed two paths: I received a bachelor’s degree in business management in Kabul, and I graduated from Pavillon Bosio in 2023 at the top of my class with a commendation from the board of examiners.
My work as an artist is based on various forms of expression and different media, including photography, video, installation, kinetic sculpture, product design and virtual video. My artistic research takes another look at the history, geopolitics and power dynamics in my native country of Afghanistan.

What does the Artists’ Residency in Monaco offer you?
This residency allows me to gradually shift my focus to new professional opportunities in Monaco, by continuing my artistic research and exhibition design projects.
At the Studios, I’ve also had the chance to meet artists such as Luciano Chessa and to maintain a link with local institutions like Art Monte-Carlo, the Spring Arts Festival and the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco (where I am a mediator).
Where can we see your forthcoming projects?
I am currently presenting an exhibition of photographs at the Musée Régional d'Art Contemporain Occitanie/Pyrénées-Méditerranée in Sérignan, in conjunction with the Centre National des Arts Plastiques in Paris.
You can see my exhibition design work in Monaco at the Green Shift Festival in early June, and as part of Luciano Chessa’s "Monaco Veloce" project at the Princess Grace Theatre in September.
Working with CIRVA (the International Glass and Visual Arts Research Centre) in Marseille, I am presenting a project at the citadel in Villefranche during summer, and in autumn I have a project at the Palais de l’Europe in Menton.
