Introduction
Officially opened on 20 November 1984 by Prince Rainier III of Monaco, the Princess Grace Irish Library is a tribute to Princess Grace’s attachment to Ireland, her grandfather’s native country.
A key proponent of Irish culture on the French Riviera, the library has made it its mission to promote the greatest Irish authors, poets, playwrights, film producers and musicians, through an ambitious programme of events. It also offers reading and colouring kits to help children learn more about Ireland while having fun.
At the heart of the library is Princess Grace’s personal collection, as well as some fine reference books (including numerous rare editions) and items of historical value, photographs and works of art.
