

Stravinsky - Bartok - Schönberg
The BBC Symphony Orchestra, of which Pierre Boulez was the musical director between 1971 and 1975, has been invited to perform at two exceptional concerts devoted to the modern masterpieces of the early 20th century. Two innovative ballets, two great symphonic scores and two piano concertos are on the programme of this unique diptych, with François-Frédéric Guy, a regular soloist at the Monte-Carlo Spring Arts Festival.


Introduction
There will be a pre-concert rehearsal with commentary at 2pm and a pre-concert talk at 6pm: "Poésie pour pouvoir: Boulez bâtisseur d'institutions" (Poetry for power: Boulez, builder of institutions), with Laurent Bayle, honorary director of the Philharmonie de Paris, moderated by Tristan Labouret, musicologist.
