This recording made during the 2007 Festival d’Aix-en-Provence shows a masterpiece by Leós Janáček in an iconic staging by Patrice Chéreau, and peerlessly conducted by Pierre Boulez. And above all, thanks to these two masters of the opera, it offers a perfect match between music and theatre.
