RESTE UN PEU (STAY WITH US) (2022) by Gad Elmaleh With Gad Elmaleh, Régine Elmaleh, David Elmaleh, Judith Elmaleh and Pierre-Henry Salfati. After three years of living the American dream, Gad Elmaleh decides to return to France. He misses his family and friends. At least, that’s the official reason for his return... because Gad is not (just) coming back for his mother’s couscous. No, it is another woman, who he recently met in Paris: the Virgin Mary. Smitten by the Catholic faith at the age of 50, despite coming from the Jewish faith and a traditionalist Sephardi family, he tells the story of his conversion (?) to Catholicism, poking fun at himself and his loved ones without ever descending into vulgarity. He directs his own parents and sister, who make up a charming, mischievous family. With: Father Joseph Di Leo/Department of Culture/Gad ElmalehThe film will be followed by a short discussion including participation by the director, Gad Elmaleh.
