From Paris to Montreal, the Environmental Photography Award exhibition is on the move

The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation  Environmental Photography Award 2024 exhibition was hosted in the prestigious Hall Ségur at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris from 3 to 14 October, as part of the celebrations marking the 75th anniversary of the Principality of Monaco’s accession to UNESCO (1949–2024) and at the initiative of the Principality’s Permanent Delegation to UNESCO.

Another project was launched as the year drew to a close, showcasing the 19 images produced as part of the various editions of the Foundation’s Environmental Photography Award: the exhibition “Beauty Will Save the World”, organised by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation (Canada), in partnership with the Montreal Palais des Congrès, from 18 September to 15 December, at the heart of Claude Cormier’s iconic artistic and architectural installation.

The two events offered an opportunity to share the work of some exceptional wildlife and conservation photographers, spreading the influence of their stories and conveying powerful environmental messages.

One of the Foundation’s flagship awareness-raising projects, the Environmental Photography Award amplifies the voices of those who travel the world to bear witness to the different realities found within it. Whether the focus is on denouncing the human activities that are helping to destroy our environment or highlighting the many existing conservation projects, it is always about protecting the natural world to which we belong and its complex ecosystems, all vital to good planetary health.

Quai Albert I Studios - A conversation with Ahmad Reshad

I’ve followed two paths: I received a bachelor’s degree in business management in Kabul, and I graduated from Pavillon Bosio in 2023 at the top of my class with a commendation from the board of examiners. My work as an artist is based on various forms of expression and different media, including photography, video, installation, kinetic sculpture, product design and virtual video. My artistic research takes another look at the history, geopolitics and power dynamics in my native country of Afghanistan.
