A look back on the 30th Edition of European Heritage Days

Since 1996, the Principality has participated in this international event which showcases the cultural heritage of European countries.

This year, architectural heritage was in the spotlight. Nearly 11,000 visitors were able to discover or rediscover, for one day, the diversity of architectures and styles that shape the urban landscape of the Principality, where historic buildings, emblematic villas and contemporary structures coexist in unique harmony.

On Saturday 4 October, the cross-border itinerary offered visitors the opportunity to discover Villa Eilenroc, a neoclassical villa located at Cape Antibes.

On Sunday 5 October, more than thirty institutions opened their doors to reveal to the public their behind-the-scenes and the richness of their professions. Young people were able to learn about architectural drawing and the notion of spatiality during workshops organised at the Costa Studios. Architectural walks also led visitors to encounter remarkable buildings and more anonymous architectures, while ongoing construction sites, set to reshape the country, were exceptionally open to visit.

The Department of Cultural Affairs and the Heritage Institute thank all partners, contributors and the public for their commitment and contribution to the promotion of Monegasque cultural heritage.
