Cyrano de Bergerac

Introduction

This theme highlights the threats facing our tangible cultural heritage (e.g. works of art and furnishings, architecture, written and graphic works, built landscapes, gardens, archaeological sites, etc.) and intangible cultural heritage (e.g. traditions, language, performing arts, rituals and festive events, traditional craftsmanship, gastronomy, etc.), such as climate change, natural disasters, societal changes, urbanization, and mass tourism. It invites candidates to reflect on what Monaco’s cultural heritage represents for them and to consider solutions for its preservation. The panel of experts, composed of Stéphane Bern—an iconic figure in heritage promotion—internationally renowned photographer and documentary filmmaker Nick Danziger, as well as several personalities from Monaco’s cultural sphere, will select 15 photographs from the submissions and award prizes to three photographers (one in each of the following categories: ages 11–14, 15–18, and 19–25).The selected photographs will be exhibited on the railings of the Saint-Martin Gardens from April to October 2026.The contest is open to young people aged 11 to 25 who are Monegasque nationals, residents, students enrolled in the Principality, or working in Monaco.Registration is open until March 15, 2026, at 11:59 p.m., and further details are available on culture.mc via an accessible online form : https://culture.mc/formulaires/formulaire-de-candidature-au-concours-photos-patrimoine-en-danger-pour-les-11-25-ans
