A look back at the European Heritage Days
The European Heritage Days took place on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September in the Principality, attracting nearly 10,000 visitors with the theme of "Routes, networks and connections".
The European Heritage Days are a joint initiative by the Council of Europe and the European Union, involving more than 50 European countries and attracting nearly 30 million visitors.
This year, the event highlighted the routes, networks and connections that make up our societies and allow us to interact with one another, whether commercially, to exchange scientific knowledge or technological innovation, or to share cultural and artistic practices.
The Principality of Monaco's iconic port has been world-renowned since classical antiquity. The arrival of the railway saw the region grow into a top holiday destination during the Belle Époque. Steeped in history, the Principality remains a vibrant cultural hub. Through its architectural, artistic and religious heritage, the Principality welcomes visitors to discover the historical footprints that have left an indelible mark on the region.
Nearly 10,000 visitors had the opportunity to learn more about the Principality’s cultural, professional and charitable organisations, which opened their doors for free, including the Prince’s Palace, Prince Albert II Foundation, Princess Grace Dance Academy or International Hydrographic Organization.
