Supporting young artists and enhancing the cultural heritage of the Principality
The Department of Cultural Affairs is commissioning a work from young scenographers to showcase the heritage of the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra.
The Department of Cultural Affairs has called upon two artists trained at Monaco Art School (Pavillon Bosio), Maëva LU-CHI-VANG and Théophile SARGENTI, to create a work at Rainier III Auditorium based on photographs of conductors of the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, previously displayed along the Kreizberg Hall. These photographs are from a collection held by the Department of Cultural Affairs, donated to the Principality by Bob MARTIN, an artist of many talents. Both a double bassist with the Orchestra and a photographer, he captured, over more than 30 years, unique moments in the life of the ensemble.
This artistic commission is part of the Department of Cultural Affairs' commitment to enhance the cultural heritage of the Principality and support young artists. This installation also reflects the desire to bring together the arts in order to awaken public curiosity.
