Established in 1966 by Prince Rainier III as a tribute to his father, the Prince Pierre Foundation offered the people of Strasbourg, on Thursday 11 June, a discovery of contemporary sacred music through a concert by the Estonian choir Vox Clamantis. This performance took place in the remarkable setting of the Saint-Pierre-le-Jeune Protestant Church and was part of the cultural programme of Monaco's Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.
Founded in 1996, Vox Clamantis brings together musicians from all disciplines united by their shared passion for medieval and contemporary singing. Many composers have written for this ensemble, which is conducted by its founder-conductor Jaan-Eik Tulve, born in 1967 in Estonia and a graduate of the Tallinn and Paris Conservatories.
