Evening Event and Open-Air Screening: Surrealism & Beyond
Surrealism & Beyond is a programme of short films created by surrealist and contemporary artists as part of the exhibition "Victor Brauner, The Magical Adventure"
Introduction
From 6:00 pm: Food & drinks at Régulus
- 6:00 pm–9:30 pm: Free access to the exhibition "Victor Brauner, The Magical Adventure"
- 9:30 pm: Open-air screening: Surrealism & Beyond
The selection opens with films that play with an art still in its infancy, such as "Entr'acte" (1924) by René Clair, which brings cinema almost by force onto the stage of a ballet. Fifty-five years later, Maurice Lemaitre turns away from the screen to "project onto the sky". Finally, the surrealist accents of "Carabosse" (1982) by Lawrence Jordan and "Blue" (2018) by Apichatpong Weerasethakul are further extensions of an art guided by the call for perpetual wonder.
