For more than twenty years, the Sirba Octet has set the stage alight with warm, joyful and emotion-filled music. This group of eight musicians from a classical background bring back to life the music of Eastern Europe: klezmer, Yiddish, gypsy... Popular melodies that tell of exile, celebrations, memory and hope.
After landmark albums such as A Yiddishe Mame, Tantz! or Sirba Orchestra!, the Sirba Octet returns with a brand new programme: Sirbalalaïka, a celebration of Russian, gypsy and klezmer music. For this vibrant project, the Sirba Octet is accompanied by soloist Alexei Birioukov, virtuoso of the balalaika, the musical symbol of Russia.
The Sirba Octet is a celebration of sounds and emotions, an unforgettable musical journey, between laughter, tears and shared memories.
